    1972 paint code 324 ( metallic blue)

    Does someone here have a good picture of this color ??? I've seen gemini blue , but my paint says 324.

    Hi Curt,
    I have a 72 in original paint Gemini.
    The Blue and Gemini are quite hard to distinguish unless side by side and the lighting plays tricks on both.
    This thread has pics of most of the colours and is a cool thread regardless.

    This car belonged to a friend of mine. It has been repainted, but I was there when the final formula was selected. The paint shop tried formulas from all the usual suspects (Glasurit, Dupont, BASF, Sikkens, etc.) but none really matched the spot of undisturbed original that the shop saved just for this purpose. The paint you see here is Dupont custom matched by eye. I believe it is a good representation. Metallic Blue is a bit more vibrant and more "blue" than Gemini.

    324 is almost identical to 334 Metallic blue ... Here is Lars' '72 in Gemini and my '73 in (334) Metallic ...

    2 digit sales code is the same, and the changeover seems to be late in the 1972 model year. Probably a minor formula change, maybe the silver flake. My data suggests it was Herberts manufactured.

    84 334 Blue Met from July 1972
