Great Photos. Thank you for sharing. More on the Junghaus Mill. We were honored to be positioned in the lower level. On the set up evening, the current owner took us on a tour of the upstairs. He is sixth generation. The upstairs is as it was when it was shut down in 1954. Originally the equipment was steam powered.
An absolutely incredible building. The ironic thing was as we stopped around upstairs, we shook a bunch of dust loose on our cars below. Well worth it though. Here’s a couple photos of the current owner giving us a tour.

Thanks for the comments. I think I spent as much time looking at the buildings as I did looking at the cars. The sixth generation owners of the property have done a great job of maintaining and preparing these buildings for another six generations. Too often these under-appreciated industrial buildings are neglected or turned into another surface parking lot. Turns out they make a wonderful backdrop for events like the Luft and provide many opportunities for adaptive reuse.

There's an informative website for the property located here

    https://www.jungclausmill.com/history

They've included copies of the Sanborn fire maps from 1898 and 1915. Sanborn maps are an important historical record for understanding when buildings were built and how they were used. These maps are data rich, and legends describing all of the colors used and special notations for windows, roof materials, etc. etc. can be found online.

My day job is working for a developer that specializes in adaptive reuse so I could go on but I won't. We do work primarily in Louisville, Kentucky and Dayton, Ohio. Our latest project in Dayton was on the Motor Car Building where Stoddard-Dayton cars were built. A Stoddard-Dayton won the first race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and one was the pace car for the first Indy 500.
