Anyone seen this option before?
1971 2.2S first owned by John Fitzpatrick. For sale on www.borderreivers.co
COA states “electric mirror on passenger side”.
No mirror present in photos. Misprint perhaps?

It sounds like option M261 but with incorrect description.

I dont know what option they stuffed up BUT there was never a passenger side mirror on that car . See when new below
maybe it is the TTG driving lights M432 that are not mentioned on the COA but were there when the car was handed over to him originally (unless dealer fitted)

That does look like a power antenna inside there.
Current long term ownership: 63 Cab, 71 911, 74 914
Power antenna, so presumably a radio, and fog lights. Makes one wonder about the CoA. I could get the data on the car.

I think we can safely assume that the details were “lost in the translation” I guess.
I also think that the info you can obtain davep, and a few of the others on this board who have access to the “inner circle”, is more accurate than the COAs sometimes are.
What I’d really like to know is the price!!!

Was it common for the factory to install antenna motors with "plumber's tape", and do so in such a visible place?

yes my 1973 with an electric antenna was like that from new. It was a metal strip with holes in it that was twisted to give a good anchor pint to the inner guard - but it is only visible from a low shot like that - not from a normal line of sight
