    Seen that crude bracket on a number of them: often covered in undercoat and muck so not as visible

    I had exactly the same experience with a ‘73 I owned, ex-UK. I blamed it on the previous owner, until I learnt the truth!
    What is important is to replicate that “crudeness” when you restore your Porsche, make sure you add plenty of “orange peel” to the paintwork and ensure that the stitching on the carpet binding is crooked!!! I’m just kidding - but I do know owners who take this seriously!
