Need help with '69 glove box install

Just took the 8 Track Cassette player out of my car (yeah, it's been sitting a long time) from where the Glove Box used to be. I have the glove box and a clip, but don't know how it goes together. Noticed that the metal strip that was spot welded under the dash to hold the box has been cut off. If anyone can post a picture of how the box is mounted, and how the clip works I would appreciate it. I can pop rivet a new strap on under the dash.

OK, so it seems that since no one has ever had their glove box out, i think I have figured it out. The band goes around the box and ends close to the dash on the bottom. The screw goes in just under the bottom of the Glove box door from the passenger compartment. Bend the strap and insert the metal part so you can just get a few threads in, then tighten the screw until the box is secure.

Glad you figured it out! Any pics of the 8-track player?

Kinda bummed out. Had the 8 Track hooked up on the bench and popped a tape in and it started to play, but no sound. switched some of the speaker wires and smoked two capacitors, may have had them hooked up wrong. Stills plays and will go thru all 4 channels. Maybe I'll swap out the caps and see if it plays. Only have three tapes, Johnny Mathis Greatest Hits, Burt Bacharach Reach Out and Carly Simon Anticipation. Wouldn't mind hearing Carly Again!

Ready to go. Hmmm, forgot there was even a light here. All cleaned and ready to go. Guess I'm going to have to patch those holes.

I think the members on this Forum should send you all of their 8-track tapes!
