Rear seat backrests, are they all the same?

We are working on my interior and found today that the two backrests I have differ slightly from each other. When I got the car these were gone so I sourced some. The parts book calls for 901 522 005 20 (L) upto chassis #305100 and 901 522 005 22 (L) from #305101 onwards. Does anybody know the difference between the two? What we are finding is that one is a bit wider at the "ear" we don not have any idea which is early and which is late

    TIA<

So, you're saying that the ears are wider apart on one of the seat backs? Are they both similar in appearance?

Hey Grandfather JB! Does Richard already have you doing nappies?

Attached some pictures. Looks like the sides facing the outside of the car are different.
