    W: 1971 911E targa

Looking for condition 2 or better example that has retained most of its originality, well documented. Prefer colors other than red, white, black or silver.

Today, a lady in my town contacted me, and asked that I come look at her husband's 1974 Targa CIS Porsche. So she could prepare it for sale.
The car is black, in original paint. About 75,000 miles. He is probably the original owner. It was not an S. the VIN starts with 9114111xxx.
The owner was finally preparing it for the road with new tires and such, when dementia hit him.
Nearly every part seemed original from day one...she claimed never an accident...and it looked good. I could see no rust on any part of the car. Front suspension looked immaculate.
The car has been off the road for maybe 15+ years, in a garage. it is very dusty, with a few parts disassembled, like door panels. It is up on stands.
The engine turned easy with a wrench, and was highly oringinal. She couldn't find the key, so I took a door handle home to make a key for it. (which I finished and will try later this week).
The brake disc look new, but since the car has been sitting....I couldn't get the wheels to turn, tho, i didn't try too hard. the targa roof is just the skeleton, without the outside vinyl.
I saw no documents...but a search in her house might find some. The more I saw, the more I was surprised how original and good everything was.
Steve, it's not your year, and it's black, but is definitely highly original, so I thought I would mention it.

    Current long term ownership: 63 Cab, 71 911, 74 914

Scott, thank you so much for the reply. I am really holding out for a 70' or 71' 911E Targa in a wild 70's color though.
