    Question FS: @BaT - 1970 911S No Reserve

    Has anyone seen this?

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...911s-coupe-15/

a 911S without reserve, seems a bit strange...

    Apparently these are the numbers:

    VIN: 9110301211
    Engine: 6301667
    Transmission: 7108280

Seems to be a late period 1970 but the whole Italian certificate thing is not very clear.

    Anyone knows this car?

Looks like an Italian spec to me though the signal lenses and side mirror are wrong.

It's a put up wet #3-4 so, no reserve seems to me the right way to go. I mean the dude has had it nearly 40 yrs.. Not like he's going to lose money on it. There are going to be quite a few folks thinking to get into a 2.2S at a 'cough cough' reasonable amount. That's where the passion will play.

The flippers and restorers are already trying to determine whether there's any meat left after digging into everything the car needs. I suspect they'll drop off early.

Or, the big collector will overpay because he doesn't have an Italian spec car in his collection. He'll have it at any cost.

Michael many thanks, very fair assessment. Most likely this car will need 50-60k of work to take it to the right level, what do you think ? Many thanks

For a nice daily driver that you would be willing to hear critiques, yes. Honestly though, to take it to a high number 2 is going to be more like $75-100k in my opinion... depending on the amount of work an owner is willing or capable of doing themselves.
