Oris Otto Riehle trailer hitch E19

I was offered yesterday a tow bar

    Oris E 19
    Otto Riehle Möglingen
    trailer hitch for 356B/C

and of course I immediately accepted.

So, I found the pics of the workshop manual, Adam of Unobtanium had posted over at the 356registry, contacted the service department of the follow up company of Oris, and received the Installation manual for the E19 trailer hitch.

    I have it translated below..

Now the only thing missing is the official tow weight from the TUEV for the 356….

    enjoy

    Oris E 19
    Otto Riehle Möglingen/Stuttgart
    trailer hitch
    for 356 B/C

    Installation instructions for
ORIS coupling device type E 19,
    Porsche
    Addendum I of 4 Dec. 1964
Addendum II of 5 May 1966

    General component type-approval No.M 3353 of 22 June 1963

Can only be used on passenger cars type Porsche, from the company Porsche with a permissible gross vehicle weight of up to 1360 kg, tested for a towing capacity of up to 650 kg., appr. support load 50 kg.

Remove the rear bumper with the retaining springs. Cleanly remove the anti-drying compound outside and inside for the washers (1), so that metallic friction is possible. Screw the device to the previous retaining spring attachment. With the help of the coupling device as a template make the additional 13 mm @ holes. Now screw the inserts (1) with a device. Twist out the screws of the retaining springs. Release the bumper springs on the bumper and push them 5 mm outwards in the slotted holes. Screw and secure bumper springs with correspondingly longer M 8 screws as good as possible 10 K on the coupling device. Tighten the bumper screws.
If necessary, increase the slotted holes in the bumper springs and the passageways in the body. Now drill the holes in the bumper for connection with reinforcement angle (2). All screws tighten well.

The installation work must be carried out in accordance with these installation instructions and must be checked by an officially recognized expert or examiner in accordance with §§ 19, 20 or 21 StVZO.
It is essential to submit this installation instruction for verification.
