Im a Member so I thought I would just ask.

Not photographed, but this may help to answer your questions:
I have a couple dozen orange bar badges with 5 or 6 that came off original cars and another 5 or 6 that I *think* I can date to specific cars/years. But I've never bothered to document them by year specifically as I can't be 100% confidant in their provenance and so many details seem to pertain to several different years with little consistency other than the flat/pebbled back seemingly corresponding to earlier/later badges.

Thanks JP, these badges I guess are a bit of a moot point but I agree with the 'flat/pebbled' earlier/later difference.

I think that JP is referring to the subtleties of these early badges that a computer image like you posted fail to correctly represent.
As an example if you look at your image of the 1963-73 badge and compare it to this
The 'errors' are obvious but thank you for posting what you have.

Let's see. Off the top of my head.
The orange badge they show from 1963 through 1973 actually runs through 1974 with at least a couple minor variations during that run.
The red badge they show from 1974 through 1994 isn't even close. In actuality:
1975-77 - Transitional badge. Reverse similar to the orange bar badges but red bars on the obverse. I've also seen these on early 1978 91SC cars so there was some of the typical Porsche parts bleed over.
1978-83 - First badges to have the later-style reverse showing the "210 20" part number. Obverse similar to 75-77 transitional badge.
1984-89 - Slight change to gold finish and casting of the badge is cleaner and more refined. Looks like a more modern part.
1990+ Finish becomes more matte/satin and design is even more refined. These badges look like the badges on the 944/928 cars. I haven't compared them closely enough to say they are the exact same part but I suspect that they are. They may have started earlier at some point late in the 3.2 Carrera run. Can't remember off the top of my head and not at my shop to verify.
Obviously, YMMV. These are just my observations from the 40+ cars in my collection, many of them low mile/one owner/original paint/etc. As for post 1990. Your guess is as good as mine.
John is correct on this.
The orange bar crest was even used on early bumper models.
Very late MY74:
The 64-73 or 74 badges are our main concern. Variations such as pin length, flat or curved, smooth back, partly pebbled back, fully pebbled back, top letters that touch the border, that weird spikey thing on the horses chest or not, orange bar color, orange bar color uniformity are a few that come to mind.
