    It looks like the number is stamped on top? Is there any way to see the number on a muffler in a car?

    folks, I promised in an earlier post that I would check the outer layer of the 3/73 Bischoff being stainless or steel. I took the magnet and it clicked immediately to the outer skin, so that proves it's steel and not stainless.

    The double layer ones can be stainless outer over regular so magnet may not be a definitive

    The magnet was tried with the outer skin separated from the inner skin. So not both skins attached.

    In that case since I have one example that is certainly stainless outer dated 10/72 there might have been two versions of the bischoff a stainless outer and a regular outer?
