    speedo question

Is it possible to remove the trip meter cable from the back of a speedometer without taking the speedometer apart? I want to remove the cable from one speedo so I can install it on one that is missing the cable. Thanks. Did a search but nothing came up.

Yes it pulls out form the back of the instrument …..there is a white plastic part that wedges into the back and slides on the cable .
Also the re set knob has a Set screw which needs to be loosened and the small chrome trim just screws out .

Thanks. So do I just pull on the cable? Or do I need to pry the plastic part off the back (see pic of one with and without cable))? Where is this set screw that needs to be loosened? Don't want to just yank on the cable in case I break something.

Yes pry gently in the plastic ,may need to use some needle nose with some light pressure .
So don’t break the plastic and don’t scratch you housing.

The other end of the cable that feeds thru the dash right below the speedo .
The knob that turns the odometer is at the end .

Do you have all the parts on that end ?

If you search odometer cable in the for sale section.
You will see a post of cable with all components.
Think it was a 2018 and sold for $100

Here is a pic of the one end. Does this look complete (they are both blurry)? I removed the white plastic piece and the cable pulled out easily. I inserted it into the other speedo and the trip meter numbers turn.

Looks correct….Mike sure the spacer is on the back Side so the threads will allow the chrome trim to tighten against the dash. Then insert the knob & tighten the set screw .
    Should work
