    flasher woes

My flasher only works when the headlights are on. Does not flash when light switch is off. New harness and all other light functions and switching are AOK. Any one Know what's up?

Just a guess here,,,,where is the power source coming from to your flasher?

Another guess, if your left side stalk has a number ending in 303.30 then the flasher function only works on dimmed light when pulled towards you (Italian market). At least that is how a read the Spare Parts manual 72/73. I have it in my Italian delivery RS.

Ha! I thought you meant turn signal flasher ! Still somewhat same answer, however there is also a relay for headlight flasher, just behind combo gauge. More questions on power source for you later. Do you have schematic?

Yup. I meant the headlight flasher. It's on my 67. As said above all other functions fine. The light only flashes with headlight switch on, pulling the stalk, and then a little intermittently; not on each pull. I have not taken anything apart yet just looking for a direction to go. I'm not a whiz on electricals issues although I did just repair my handbrake light switch. The contact bow was broken off at the copper rivets. So I want to delve into this. Thanks Ed.

See if you have power at term.30 at back of ignition switch, that in turn feeds term. 30 of the turn signal/ flasher stalk. Did I understand that you just installed a new harness?

Yes I have power 30 to 30 and it is a new harness. Lights off, no flash. Lights on, weak low beam flash. Seems like 56b is getting what 56a should??

Since you replaced the harness I assume it came with a schematic for installation. The fuse box is a potential source for incorrect hook up. Do you have high beam (white wires) from terminal 11 and 12, and low beam (yellow) wires from fuse 9 and 10. I think a careful review of every hook up using your wiring schematic will be necessary. And possible incorrect hook up at back of headlight.

Everything checks out, all good. Must be in the switch?
