    Carb Stud removal

What is the best way to remove carb studs. Want to replace with longer studs to install insulators in my 68 911L.
    Any help is appreciated.

    This worked for me:

    1. Make sure your intakes are well covered with painters tape or similar to prevent anything from falling in.
    2. I found it worth getting a set of stud removers and installers from Snap-On: https://shop.snapon.com/product/MSKM10. They work great, don't destroy the studs, fit in tighter places than the large, cheaper ones on Amazon, and allow you to torque on without damaging new threads.
    3. Soak the base of each stud multiple times with PB blaster or similar, preferably the day before.
    4. Give each studs some sharp, vertical knocks with a hammer to try to break any rust bonds with the threads. Don't go ape on them, just crisp, square hard taps.
    5. Some studs may come out easier if you SLIGHTLY tighten before loosening.

I pulled and replaced all 12 exhaust studs and all 12 intake studs without any damage. I did not need to use any heat or freezing.

Stud removers are great. If you don’t have one, then two nuts should work fine unless they are super stuck
