Lost a Porsche Brother and a decorated veteran

Last Friday we lost a good one, Eric "Ric" Sawyer lost his fight with cancer. He didn't lose many fights, he was shot down multiple times piloting a chopper in Vietnam. Upon returning from the war alive he was stationed in Germany and as a present to himself he went to a Porsche dealer and ordered a car his way. A 69 911E, so he could tour Europe and he said he had a pocket full of money because of his Captain's Bars and he checked every box, sport seats, rear wiper, upper and lower fogs, it was his car they way he wanted it. The car and Ric went all over Europe, and then returned to the US, when the engine spun a bearing in 72, he parked the car. I met Ric years later when he decided to sell the car, and I dragged it out of the barn. I sold it, the car was restored, went up for auction and guess where it ended up, at Ric's house, full circle. I'll miss my friend.

Tomorrow we should honor Ric and all our veteran's who keep us safe.

    ---Adam
