Thread: Mud Flaps: where? which? how?

Question Mud Flaps: where? which? how?

Since Uai is teasing me on that Rallye neige et Glace and after having equipped Biancaneve with winter tires, I am now in need a pair of mud flaps to safely used studded tires as foreseen by the regulation (assuming that I will be able to convince my lady to let me register, which is the most difficult part of the story).

I've found these on the web :

...but, apart from the outrageous price for two pieces of rubber (€ 169.40 + shipping), there are no assembly instructions and I would absolutely avoid drilling ... do some of your cars have them? What did you install and how did you fix them? Thanks.

I have searched the board for some hints but I couldn't find anything really convincing.

    Any suggestion / tutorial welcome.

    Thank you.

I would also be interested in seeing some mounting pics of mudflaps like these....I also have a set for a future project.

Perhaps they just hang off the rear fender supports?

Using clamps like this attached to the support that would hold the mudflap?

JimmyT has the attachment parts for them… - and ask Marek, if he still has the flaps, or take the complete set from JimmyT.
pricing will not get cheaper…rare parts..

Well, for the time being I'm working to have the car ready ... to actually participate I still need to solve some other family issues, I will decide at later stage. Uli is in any case attending with his 2002 so beautiful pics will come from him anyhow . If not at that rally, I will for sure take part to some other winter event.
