    911 Sports Purpose Carpet?

I'm curious what color carpet was most common in LWT 911 race cars like the RS, ST, TR etc.

I know most of these cars had gutted interiors and carpet was almost non-existent but I have seen several pictures of cars using LWT carpet kits. I've also seen cars (like the ST) that used a strip of carpet across the bottom of the dash in lieu of the chrome trim / vinyl that standard cars used.

In most cases, the carpet I've seen looks black or at least darker than the dark charcoal gray that was standard on the floors of regular cars.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Stretch,

The carpet that the RSR and RSH got (mj 1973), was different from that the RSL variant got back in the day.
The RSH/RSR version has rubber mats in the front and according to the guy at 'Cartex Sitzklinik' in Germany, didn't have the nice edges as the RSL carpet had.
Looks like most restorations used the RSL version, or the RSH/RSR version with those nicer looking edges (like R6's restoration). Not sure if he's right, and their website doesn't have a lot of pictures,
and from most RSR pictures I can't tell if their interior is original or not, so not sure on the finish nor correct color.
I ordered a set back in October, but still haven't received it so can't tell you if they have it correct on material, color and finish. DHL is apparently still not shipping to Australia...

    His response:
"Ja sie bekommen die RSH Ausführung.
Das bedeutet aber auch strenggenommen, daß der Teppich keinen Einfaß hat und im Radkasten vorne hat er Ausschnitte für die Papprohre der Lüftung.
Die RSL Ausführung hat einen Einfaß.
Wir machen aber normalerweise den RSH Teppich mit Einfaß. Sieht schöner aus.
Außer das Fahrzeug ist original.Dann natürlich ohne Einfaßung."

"Yes you get the RSH version.
Strictly speaking, this also means that the carpet has no edging and in the front wheel arch it has cutouts for the cardboard ventilation ducts.
The RSL version has a rim. (edit: edge?)
But we usually make the RSH carpet with edging. Looks nicer.
Unless the vehicle is original, then of course we do it without an edge."
