    ignition Issue

Would love anyone's insight or diagnosis as my car won't start!

Batteries are at 12.5 volts. headlamps and blinkers work, only the horn doesn't work and the fuel pump doesn't spring on when I turn the key and the starter does nothing. Safety lights in the gauges don't light up either.

It started right up before I was working on my HVAC system. Considered pulling the cables through the forward bulkhead to restore the controller and cables. In prepping for this project, I unplugged these three plugs which are located under the ignition switch. After I put the HVAC system all back together, the car wouldn't start.

    All fuses are good.

    Batteries are good.

Engine and systems are in check. Worked with all the classic porsche veterans to restore the car.

Some electrical systems work (lights all around), but not the starter, fuel pump, horn, not sure what else.

Should I check a relay? Could I have messed up the ignition switch somehow by unplugging it, or is there some other correlation?

Thanks a million for your insight

One of the plugs in your photo doesn't look like it is fully inserted.
As I can see some of the white plastic.
I would spend a little time to make sure each plug is perfectly in its place.

Thank you. One of the first things I did was to check those plugs. I unplugged them and replugged each. I will check them again for corrosion and conductivity. Seems like fuel pump, horn (steering column) and starter are all tied into those ignition plug wires.

Are you sure you got each plug in the proper socket?

I did have the plugs flipped. I was confident they were plugged in correctly, but i was talking to someone who helped me to believe otherwise and then this morning I went out and flipoed them back and sure enough it started right up. Thanks for posting, Ed.
