    Reinforced shock towers

    Hi folks,

we are going to race with a 1965. The body has the reinforced/welded non adjustable front shock towers. I found some details here about it on this incredible forum.

Problem is, we have to prove that this was done on behalf of the factory and not an aftermarket or private modification which will not be accepted by the rules.

Is there a memo or any written statement from Porsche about this?

    Thanks

For most of us gringos who don't race in Europe and don't understand the point of this thread, in Europe the 'rules' are taken much more seriously by the FIA than by any racing body in North America. In addition to the (fairly cursory) FIA "technical inspection" before each event, after each race all cars are sequestered in impound and inspected carefully against the 'rules', which are extraordinarily complex. Infractions wind up with a mark against the car being put onto the FIA HTP (similar to the logbook), and if not resolved before the next race (even in the same event weekend) the car is declared ineligible. It is quite a big deal. Not all FIA inspectors are equal, and it's interesting to hear them discussing/debating fine points with each other. So, 67Porsche911S needs to print out that bulletin and carry it with him to race events.
