    Hi Bill,

    I was inspecting the mirror a little closer. Do you think the rubber seal around the housing/mirror can be removed, thus allowing a replacement glass insert?

    There are specialist glass companies that do this kind of work.

    I’m sure it can be done that way. Whether is will be less costly, and whether you will be happy with the results, is a toss up IMO.

    What is the going price for an original mirror in good condition? There are a few guys in the Austin area with a lot of old parts. I can ask around for you if you like.

    I've found one so far for $150. Yes, please ask around and see if you can source one locally.
