Whatever happened to this car (and thread?)...

Circa January 2012, referenced on BaT, discussed by us, but where is our thread or inline posts?

I remember it being a very rare color, borderline 1 of 1.

I wish it was easier to search on ESR. At one point, I was fairly good at it.

Cloudy Grey rings a bell, but it doesn't wake up the ESR search function

    . . . reads like this sale was in St Louis . . .

Another reason to post those VINs

    . . .

    . . . from the BaT article --- circa 2012 . . .

'. . . The VIN is correct for a ’69 S Coupe but the engine is correct for ’70 S. Even though chassis and engine do not match it will still fetch $5K to $10K from someone willing to part it out. If planets align and the owner of the matching chassis to that engine stumbles across this auction it may go for as much as 15K . . .'

    Thanks, Rick!
It would be so cool to see an early S in this color

I'd love to know how you dug up the old thread too...

Actually --- YOU helped me, Bret

Looking at the the BaT article in your post . . .
    https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...=1#post1111722

. . . the first thing I did was look for a VIN --- and, sure enough . . . there was a pic of the data plate on the front slam panel

    The number was a bit hard-to-read, but I took a guess, then . . .

    . . . did a search on The Registry . . .

    . . . and found your post --- from way back in 2013 . . .

Looking through that thread, I saw the reference to 'cloudy gray' = voilą

Couldn't 've found it without cha!

'Nother reason to post those VINs
