    Body Re-assembly - Post Paint

    Hello to All

Is there a preferred or recommended order in which to re-assemble body panels (doors, fenders, bumpers - front & rear, - trunk & deck lids) after an up & coming paint job? I neglected to record the dis-assembly procedure (15+ yrs. ago) & would appreciate any advice or tips for re-assembly of said body parts. At this point, the car is just a bare (gutted) tub/shell on wheels. I've planned on leaving the doors for last as I intend to install an upgraded interior for the car. Any help or advice will be most appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Cheers
    JB

Cowl seals first then hood then front bumper then I usually do rear lid then rear bumpers then license panel. Then I install the doors. I don't wait on the door for interior as you want to make sure early on the fit is right and doors are safer on the car then in the shop I feel. That's just how we do it.

So….assume the cowl seals include the front fenders ?
You didn’t mention them so checking .
I did my rear bumpers first ( just a lot of fitting & tweaking with seal and rear horns )
    Then center panel & seals

I kept my front fenders & bumper off also hood …better access to trunk area for many things.
    Of course fuel tank last

But I would like input re doors , thought should be on to better fit fenders.
All thinking easier for interior ?

Maybe extreme , but I use this bubble wrap to protect body and components from bumping, scratches, dust and
    Other careless acts.

We paint the fenders on the car as Porsche did. We fit everything before paint and paint the door hinges and fenders on the car that way it all fits as it should after paint. You just install door with the hinge pins and fit the hood to the already installed fenders.

With my luck at unintended consequences - I think I may also explore the bubble wrap option during some of the re-assembly process. Much appreciated guys - Thanks

A large roll can be bought for under $25….
The sheet easily tear off every 18” or so
I googled and found a supplier 20 minutes from me.
    Good luck with assembly
