    Sunroof delete, is it worth it?

    I already painted my RS tribute, and I’m not loving the sunroof. Is it worth deleting? What’s better? A roof clip or a plug?

    Thanks

    100% do the whole skin. Better fit and finish and not a lot of filler. I don't blame you. I'm not a fan of sunroofs at all. Slick tops rule! Haha

    Where are you located? Porsche still sells the roof clip but it's expensive but it does save a lot of time prepping a used piece. I have 3 clips right now.

    I can't imagine why the dislike for sunlight. Every coupe I've owned, except for my '51 split windshield, has had a sunroof.

    I've had several sunroof cars and have always enjoyed them. What is it that you don't love?

    I was once walking through Goodwood MM and overheard some self-professed expert opine very loudly to his friends that the car they were looking at was a replica RS because it had a sunroof. It wasn’t. It was a well known original. A car known to people I respect here — I’d only spoken to its new owner who was racing some other special cars that day.

    I didn’t even waste my breath correcting the “expert” as I walked past.

    In some climates sunroof and opening rear quarters are great combo.

    If you're not loving it, then you have your answer. You can see that there are two camps of thought here (I admit to being in the non-sunroof crowd)...your car, your way!

    I have a friend near by that has purchased this kit;
    https://www.design911.com/Sunroof-de...urce=doofinder
    His body guy checked it out yesterday.
    The owner has semi striped out the roof area.
    Will be in the shop I would say in the next few weeks,will let you know how he attacks the job if your interested?
    Not a fan of sunroof either, even tho I still own a car with one, sold the other.

    That’s what I was thinking-with the right metal guy should minimize any warping. I’m very curious is they’re adding any stringer underneath? Don’t this an original non sunroof car comes with one.

    Very interested. I’ll pm. Thanks for sharing.
