Ferrari GTO raced and David Piper won on a cold icy track in Brands Hatch Kent on Boxing Day 1965 then offered for sale in London soon after

Even by then then think it might have already been rebodied?

Circa 1987 PCGB production race. Quite a few of the field are real deal about 15 year old ‘73 RS

Hi Chuck nice poster. Coincidentally I was talking with Jacky Ickx the winger iirc only yesterday. He was a guest at the concours event in London’s Savile Row . He was tucked away in one of the old bespoke tailors.
Few realised he was in there so enabled a long conversation about various things including the time when he played peekaboo with my young son through the curtains of goodwood house at a FOS. He’d raced for Lotus, McLaren and Williams so was interested that I’d had involvement with them too — albeit long after his time. Spoke at some length of how it was
to seize the opportunity to work in motorsport ether as driver or some other role.

Not first time we have met. I have always found him to be the most patient, nicest, polite of racers and smartly dressed, as always, not this time in blazer and tie but appropriately for this venue a well tailored grey suit without tie as it was warm day.

Agnelli’s former car was the one that drew my attention with its bespoke understated style

Huntsman one of the more established bespoke tailors on the street where I spent the afternoon were among Agnelli’s bespoke tailors as seen by the name on the item hanging:

Fast forward to 80s…. Porsche Club Great Britain production championship round at Brands Hatch in the late eighties. This race is just for class C&D the faster Porsches including a number of genuine 73 Carrera RS, 3.2 Carrera and 930 etc were in class A that was usually run as separate race.

This is Mallory Park (not Brands Hatch) but does feature the A class:

I have some programmes like this one that happens to be to hand for the round at Castle Combe a circuit which for a number of years was owned by the family that also owned the U.K. sole concession AFN/Porsche Cars Great Britain

I believe Mike Burtt driving in class A was also driving an M471 so the by this stage the 15 year old Carrera RS was still showing the way to the more modern 3.0, 3.2 and 930 Turbos in class A
