Porsche Side Script Wrapping into Wheel Well

    Hey everyone,

I have it on good authority that the SWB Sports Purpose cars "Porsche" script ended before wrapping into the front/rear wheel well.

Do we know what if that is the case is on the narrow body (ie 1969/1970) 911 GTS/ST etc.?

Want to make sure my hot rod is done properly. Any period photos would be appreciated.

    Hi Max
i think from period photos (at least all the ones I have) it is hard to tell but if pushed I would say they dont wrap around at least on the leading edge. They certainly seem to cover the rounded edges that have body color on them but given the decals are black and the under side of the wheel wells are also black I cant find any photos that confirm it one way or the other with certainty
these two black and white photos of Zasada in 119300530 are the closest I have to suggesting that they did not wrap around. But as you can see the resolution is probably not good enough the be certain.
The two color photos are ambiguous to me due to resolution BUT the last one of 119100215 (48CP) when new looks like the front part, at least, did not wrap around as i think I can see a sliver of white on the leading edge but I am not sure if that is an optical illusion or not

    Hugh,

Thanks for these photos. To my eye it looks like they don't wrap around into the wheel well on the front side, and if the rear on the SWB is anything to go off it probably doesn't wrap around there either.

    Max,

Here's a view of the rear detail. The side script stops short of the wheel well.
