It has little to do with the issue of motor taxes but taxes per year

1968. In the lower part of the document, it indicates a 10% tax compared to 11% in other years. I understand, that 10% is the same percentage that corresponds to the taxes to be paid for that vehicle for that year... correct?

Der Bundestag verabschiedet das Umsatzsteuergesetz im April 1967, als die erste Große Koalition regiert. Es tritt zum 1. Januar 1968 in Kraft. "Wir haben mit 10 Prozent angefangen, aber schon nach einem halben Jahr hatten wir 11 Prozent - und dann ging es immer so weiter", sagt Liebern.
It was 10% and 11% in 1968 depending when in 1968

the tax for the engine had to be paid every year. if the year had already begun, it was calculated to the exact day for the remainder of the calendar year. Of course, this tax was only due upon registration in Germany. in this respect it made no sense for THIS tax to juggle with the registration date. the invoice date was irrelevant for this tax anyway. the amount of the insurance premiums was based on the power of the engine at that time - in this respect there was a difference for the german driver whether T, E or S. there were classification groups, for example 60 - 75 hp, 75 - 90 hp, 90 - 110 hp etc. But that wasn't the question here...

Hope I could help a bit.

    regards uwe
