    Thread deleted without explanation?

Yesterday I responded to a thread where the original poster voiced his concern about the direction of ESR, worried the forum would lose much of its value.

There was nothing in the thread that could be seen as offensive and yet it was removed.

Could someone please explain why it was removed?

I feel like I'm missing half of the story... I saw that the post had been deleted "something that doesn't surprise me" but since I'm not a paid user that helps maintain the forum I have to stay out despite disagree with the procedure.

Not sure how much it should matter if you are a paying member or not to be allowed to have a say, since in its current format this forum is relying on all of us to be successful. But if it does matter to someone, then I am a paying member, at least for the time being, and if someone thinks that sweeping perceived issues, real or not, under the rug is a good solution, I’m afraid they are sorely mistaken. Rather it was a great opportunity for the moderators explain and justify their actions/goals/strategy.

At least in the thread where someone raised the question of why LivefromNY was banned, Chuck gave an explanation and then closed the thread. This is a lot more respectful and upright than just deleting the thread.

it was me who posted yesterday morning a new thread „The meltdown of ESR“ and asking questions why and how valuable and longtime members are banned (among others LivefromNY).,.my entire thread was deleted an hour later without any explanation or warning by the board moderator. No answer no reason. And imho
my thread was NOT against the board rules…just wanted to raise a few concerns about we loose members or contributors on this board.

I was thinking to repost it but fear i will be banned myself.
So is the state to this ESR board, being myself since 15 years and close to 3000 posts, i fear that raising a simple question leads to delete and maybe more.

Anyway..Its a sunny day and Cheers, Karim

At least when people from Europe post they get to have a 5-6 hour window for us to read, before Chuck wakes up. Lol!

I think that when long standing members are afraid to be banned for a post, the risk is there ...
