Thread: Muffler ID

    Muffler ID

    How do I figure out what muffler I have? The muffler is stamped: Made in W Germany B N 421 073 07 86 P 911/1
There are some letters below that too. Not sure what they say. Maybe "Henst xxx"?

I suspect it is a 1974+ factory exhaust.

Ahh. I found pictures of Leistriz mufflers. That's what it is. And, like I said, seems to be for a 1974+.

I also found a post by Chuck Miller saying it's the same as the earlier mufflers, just the pipe pointing lower. He apparently was or is actually running one, but with the pipe cut and rewelded to the right spot.
