I'm with Jim , offering incompatible parts as a package seems a recipe for dissatisfaction .

You never know what people are trying to accomplish when buying incomplete parts. Maybe someone wants to use the wrong hinges on the correct seat because that's what they want. Any maybe...just maybe...they do give a fuck what you think or how smart you are since you are not the buyer, seller, and have absolutely NO SKIN in the game.

NOW IF MY AD WAS MISLEADING....different story. However, I am offering "CORE" seats that are represented as "CORES." We all have an understanding of what that means right? Or do we need one of you experts to "pirate" our ads going forward, chime in, and teach all the guys on the early s registry what the slang definition of "core" means? Do you feel we need that help as well? My description should cover anyone's concerns about anything associated with the parts. Especially knowingly purchasing parts that will need to be modified or need additional parts to make them complete.

Now in all fairness, I agree with you if I was offering a part in "great" usable condition, represented the product incorrectly, and was charging retail. However, I am not.

The thread is represented correctly. I have taken photos of what will be included in the purchase. I am selling the parts cheap knowing they are not complete. I am offering two separate options for the hinges so the buyer, who on this site is generally educated, can choose what best fits what they want to accomplish. There is no issue as the thread is articulated correctly, offering options, and priced cheap.

Some guys need to stay in their lane and leave other guys threads alone unless you are bumping the ad to share a positive comment to help the sale. That's unless someone's ad is making a very specific error or a true misrepresentation of a part.

    Dear Robert

It's true, the only "SKIN" in this game is yours. It does appear to be a bit thin, though. Let's talk about "CORES". A core (a POS part that may or may not be rebuildable/repairable/restorable {my own personal definition}) is a core. A seller should accurately describe it, though. I'm not accusing you of misdescribing anything, by the way. Providing a more detailed description would help both you and any prospective buyer, though. You should know better than to assume that your buyer is knowledgeable and knows what he is buying.

Your signature line suggests that you have 911 knowledge and are a "professional". You might try acting like one.
I was just trying to save you some grief. You can thank me later

    Warmest Regards

    Jim and Robert,
I just read the competing posts. My pause in purchasing was somewhat related to a better understanding of the work involved. Although it was equally related to taking on another project before I ever get to my early 65. this other project began with using a broom to hold the hood up, bumping the aforementioned broom, having the hood come down and split my head open enough that the staples seemed to raise the height of my ears.

I do act professional. I don't comment on posts that are not mine, a part I'm not sincerely interested in, or a post that is accurate. All of which is the case with you and your unsolicited comment that honestly doesn't add any value. They are CORE seats. They fit your description. It's easy to see that they need work. It's also easy to see that they are priced accordingly. I guess I could take the time to list every imperfection however the entire seat is its own imperfection so I simply don't see how I could further describe these seats to make a buyer purchasing a project set of seats feel more confident about the work they will need to do to make these CORE seats live another day. The pictures are clear and show the condition of the seats. Your comments were not needed. It's simple.

No hard feelings either. Enjoy your day on the lake!
