    1968 911 3 point seat belt

    Hi,

I am trying to test install of the 3 point seat belt on my 68 911 before restoring it.

I thought it doesn't look right.

Is it suppose to look like that?

On the bottom 2 mounting point, would it be better if I move it to the mounting point to my seat bracket, I can weld in some mounting point.

not sure why the image is upside down

thats the way three point static belts do look.
the lower will stay at the eyebolts and should really sit on your hip
and the the shoulder belt gets set properly with the length,
to give you at least some movement

you might need to change the upper screw by a proper hexagon head bolt!

If you weld brackets to the seat base the belt won’t lift in a crash thus saving some valuable internal organs.

The seat belt brackets for the lap portion of the belt. Some bases already have them attached. I corrected my post, it said bracket instead of base. When the seat belt rises in an accident the force is transmitted to your internal organs instead of your hips.

Those are the later seat belt. The connection at the buckle split off at the buckle. On the 68 it's 4" before it split to lap and shoulder, maybe that's why it look strange on the 68.

Since I am going to move the bottom mount point to the seat for better safty, it's no longer original as I will need to shorten the webbing and put in a different bottom mount hardware (from 69?). I am thinking of maybe just go with the retractable and use the original 68 tong and buckle.

Is it okay to install the retractable reel on the rear panel like in this picture? And the 2 lower mounting point on the Recaro sport seat bracket? Anyone know who make the seat belt in this picture?
