Blower fan hoses & final wiring

I am installing the fresh air duct hoses. Where exactly is the “Y-shaped” metal tube connector installed on the passenger side under the dashboard? Could someone please send me a photo of a factory-installed Y-tube and hoses located up under the dashboard on the passenger side? I want to cut the existing hose in exactly the correct place when I install the black metal Y-tube.

I am also completing the installation of the Webasto blower wiring harness now. The last 2 connectors remaining are for the two red wires at the end of the wiring harness. One red wire goes to Terminal 75 (or terminal 54) on the ignition switch, correct? But the final longest red wire is a mystery to me… does it connect to fuse #3 at the fuse box?

    Best,
    Andy in New Hampshire

This is the only image (terrible) I have and I don't remember if it is in the correct orientation (drivers side or upside down for the passenger side).

Thanks, John! I’m not sure where that oval opening is in your photo?

I was imagining the “Y-tube” would be pointed the opposite of your photo; two openings pointed downward & the other single opening upwards. Air pushed out from the fresh air blower in the smuggler’s box would travel through the firewall hole/hose to join the warm air rising up in the paper/aluminum vertical 50mm hoses from the sills at this “Y” junction. The “joined” air then continues up to the defroster vents by the windshield.

That would mean the Y-tube must be located in the passenger compartment up under the dash and directly adjacent to the glovebox (tucked up into the top right corner of the passenger footwell). Is that where it is?

I sold this car many moons ago so much of what my pictures show I am using my aging-memory to put them in their place. I think this oval hole is located on the foot wells under the dash. It would be covered with the carpet and the carpetted storage pocket. I have this other image which I now think is the driver's side. I think this is the antenna lead. The first picture I posted must be the passenger side. It was horizontal in my file and I rotated it. I'm not sure I rotate it correctly

the oval thingie is the reinforcement panel that targas have and coupes not..here`s the area of a coupe with webasto gas heater pretty sure the Y-tube is installed the same way as on "blower" cars

Perfect! Moito, thank you so much for clarifying and for sending that photo. Exactly what I needed to see!

John, my thanks to you too!

Now I can finish the blower installation IF I can figure out where to connect that last red wire to the fuse box.

if i remember correctly... for your 75 there should be is a single unused wire with a yellow or black connector sleeve.it exits the main harness in the gauge area...it is the same one that gas heater cars use.......could be all wrong
