Factory Correct - Decklid Hinge Paint for Metallic Colors

    Hi Everyone:

I am hoping this question will yield a consistent answer from all.

My understanding is that MY71 911s had painted decklid hinges. My question is: For a gold metallic car was the decklid hinge painted only in base color or both base color and clearcoat?

    Best,
    Ravi

Wow,that is the first metallic from the 70's I have seen without "cracked" clear coat. Was it ever in the sun?

i cannot remember the history, i used to know it. i cant even remember the miles, but it was real low.
the driver door was repainted, and a muffler and that's about it.
maybe someone here at the registry owns it now. It sold about 4 years ago.

one of my cars, which i still have, was california, metallic gold...and was repainted in the first few years.

Now you got me really curious, Scott.

Let’s see some pictures of that gold metallic ride of yours!
