    finishing up the Targa top frame...
    There is a piece of leather that covers the hinges (kind of like a tendon)
    the piece gets layed out after all is put together and then the proper length and where to punch the hole for the plastic rivetName:  DSCN1212.jpg

    securing and straightening the roof panels with a strip of convertible top material. the eight "dogs" were adjusted snug to the panels so that there was no movement during the operation....Name:  DSCN1220.jpg

    too cold to paint so i oiled up my sewing machine and for practice fashioned a mock-up piece of the Targa top cover.
    Looks like the bead I have will work out once I wrap the top in burlap.....

    For those that haven't already figured it out, Bob is a Saint and a very talented one at that. I have watched that car for years sink itself further in the mud and disrepair. It is just a few blocks from me and I never tried to reach out to it's owner (a relative of Bob's and unknown to me at the time) because I determined it had very little if any value as a parts car, let alone as a project. I need to drive across our very small town of El Sobrante and see Bob's work for myself.
