    2022 Lit Show . . .

    . . . something old . . .

    . . . and something not

You just had to know that this was coming --- once they started reproducing the more complex inner panels . . .

    . . . for 'restoration' . . .

. . . then add them to the skins already out there, well . . .

    . . . all you need? -------- is a VIN

Seriously --- how much 'original sheet-metal' is left in most Speedsters anymore, anyway?

Sierra Madre Collection - Thursday, February 24th

Lovely residential street - Mount Royal Drive, for two very long blocks, angled parking on the right and parallel parking on the left.
At the beginning of the street at the corner with SMC fronting Colorado Blvd. in Eagle Rock neighborhood of LA.

    More 2022 Lit Show . . .

    . . .

Akrapovič --- prolly cost more than my car . . . all-ti, yes?

Looks like a pretty-elaborate repro RSL seat (?)

Sierra Madre? --- didn't look . . . but I'm gonna need to do something about mine
    https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...=1#post1038831

    Gears + gizmos

    Singer, Singer, Singer --- Like . . . these Guys need a booth? Or/maybe it's just advertising 're-imagined'? And lanyards? --- really? Oh-yeah . . . 'hiring fair'

Carrera 4-cams, anyone? --- 2 of 'em, no less! I'm guessing the early-style cam-drive-ignitioned one (the one 'ats fo' sale)'s from a car that vaporized, back in the Eisenhower Administration = $295k ask = no flipping

356 Heater boxes --- re-conditioned (or izzat stainless?) . . . oh, to only have a 356 to stick these under

    More 2022 Lit Show et al . . .

    . . . the Big Take-away for me? . . .

. . . was the shift to 'hot rods'

The two shops that I visited --- Carparc and especially Wilhoit Auto Restoration . . . had substantial business with Customers who were modifying their cars from stock . . . some significantly + not cheaply

Reminds me of some the Mecum and Barrett-Jackson auctions I see/re-about. IMO --- as the number of people interested in OG cars increases --- but supply of OG cars doesn't . . .

. . . so people with the money to spend but no car to buy convert their energy into cars that suit their taste

Now, Porsches have always been modified, anyway --- very few cars are 'as built.' Engines, suspensions, bodywork wear-out at some point, anyway --- so I would expect some changes. Then there 's all the usual personalization --- seats, steering wheels, etc. . . . fast-forward 50 years and what would anyone expect?

But now? --- looking at the cars that show-up at the shows . . . what draws all the attention?

So now, the Business follows suit . . .
