Thread: Throttle bodies

    Throttle bodies

Matt at Eurometrix I see on the threads is the go to guy for sure on these. However, he is moving locations and really backed up. Can someone give me an alternative shop? Does anyone take yours in as cores, and ship out fresh rebuilds? Thanks guys!!

There are others who rebuild TBs although Matt is the go to rebuilder. If you’re not in a rush and want originals then the wait is probably worth it. Others will chime in on alternatives I’m sure.

Another option might be the new production TBs that Mittlemotor produces. I have not seen a lot of feed back on their street application TBs but they do build a lot of other parts with a good reputation (including twin plug distributors and high butterfly systems). An added benefit is they are about $2,000 a set where a rebuild of originals will cost about $3,000.

I'm aquiring MFI from TRE. I will be selling my 2.4E parts soon. Here is a picture of the throttle bodies. The other parts should show up this week.

Dave at TRE has everything from 2.0 to RSR. Even a way to go MFI/EFI.

You are looking for throttle body part number: 901.110.101.0R for 1969 911E

Throttle bodies from a 2.4E have no part number and the stud spacing is 72mm vs. 66mm for the 1969 model year. 72mm is stud spacing for 1970 and later throttle bodies.

I’ve seen a vast number of 69’E fitted from factory with S stacks but Having smaller E trumpets up top without explanation. Perhaps a supply shortage of E Stacks at the time

I restore manifolds as well but usually for in-house motor rebuilds.
I sleeve badly pitted bore bodies instead of installing a larger butterfly.
The magnesium is treated again in its original Dow treatment finish.

I’m out there as well if you get snagged. Turn around time is roughly 6-8 weeks.

Very nice work. Your sleeving of the bores looks very clean.

Can you expand on the Dow treatment? Is that something the home mechanic can obtain and use? I have mine all apart and ready to go together and they would look really nice with a new finish.
    Thanks,

Here are a few items that came Friday.
What kind of finishes can be applied. Will Cerakote hold up?
I would like the stacks to be darker. I would do the throttle bodies but I don't want to take them all apart.
