    Porsche 911 1966 chassis 303076

    Hello

Is there somebody know where is located the first 911 which raced 24H of Le mans in 1966 at this time ?

Porsche 911 303076 raced RMC 1966 driven by Vic Elfoard too.

    Thank you for your help

    Best regards from Le Mans
    Manu

I dont know where it is but I have some strands of information in my files (that may or may not be completely correct) that could shed some light on its fate
As you say 303076 was Prototype R3 with original factory registration S-WX 450
It was car #139 in the 1966 Monte Carlo for Hans Walter and Werner Lier who were 4th in GT
It was car #35 in the 1966 Le Mans and 1st in GT under 2000cc for Jean Kurguen and "Franc"
it was car #69 in the 1966 Tour de Corse with Elford and Stone and 3rd placed there

then I have a gap in its history
However according to racingsportscars it is 1969TDF car #82 for Jean Sage. Car # 82 that year was registered 540LGO

Then apparently it was the Jean Sage / Pierre Greub #64 car at the 1970 Le Mans entered by Claude Haldi/ Hart Ski racing. But I have recorded that that car had replacement shell with vin 13443. Also I have it as #65 at the 1970 Le Mans Test entered by Haldi for Haldi/ Arthur Blank/Jacques Rey again with the replacement shell vin number

I cannot independently verify the 1969 / 70 information but IF it is correct it looks as if it was re-bodied by 1969 or 70. Maybe a check of the kardex of replacement body 13443 will provide more information, but maybe it will be a dead end

However it was NOT the very first 911 to race at Le Mans. That honor goes to a white factory car (that looks like a press car more than a race car) registered S-WX 407 at the April 1966 Le Mans test as car #32 driven by Herbert Linge, Von Hanstein and Jean Kerguen. I dont know the vin of that car but it must be earlier than 303076.
