    FS: 1965 901/01 engine

For sale is this 901/01 engine from early 65.

the engine comes with its matching Solex camshaft, matching chain housings, matching cylinders and matching pistons.

As you can tell from the pictures the engine needs a complete overhaul.

after we took off the cylinder heads and cleaned the cylinders, we were able to turn the crank by hand

I do know that the engine number is not the correct one or the one that should be with this engine

shipping worldwide is accepted at buyers expense

    Price is 11.000€ /12.100 USD

    Engine number originally was 2192 + 100 = 902292

Does 902292 and 8/1965 make it a 1966 or is it a very late summer 1965 car that it would have come from?

Correct me if I’m wrong. Is this a 1968 case?

    Hi Peter,

Based on an engine number that starts with 32 that seems to be a correct assumption to me. But the engine number is fake, the sequential and type number are original. So it is a 901/01 alu engine, that was used in a late 65 Model Year 911 or an early 66 Model Year 911.
