Very impressive project, it looks like you have found the best to do the work.
My interest spiked on post #5, Martin Steger. I was in the auto sales and service business for most of my life. German cars were my thing. Most of our inventory came from the Mannheim auto auction in Pa. This was the largest auction in the world and attended by dealers from every state every week. In then 90’s I met a guy there who bought similar cars as me, Audi, Porsche ,etc… We bonded a bit because we had a major common interest, Porsche. He had a independent sales service shop in the Balston spa area of upstate New York. I asked how he ended up in the states. As the OP said, he completed the apprentice program for Porsche in the late 60’s. I asked what he did and he replied humbly that he worked on the 917 program and built engines. Well, I nearly fell over. so after Porsche sent him over to the states to oversee some of the 917 cars, he liked it so much he stayed here and worked for some of the race teams. Martin sold his shop in the late 90’s or early 2000’s and I lost track of him. Good to see he is still well. We spoke Porsche every time we saw each other at the sale. Very honest and humble man.

Thank you very much for the compliment. Martin is a wonderful gentleman and I have been lucky to be able to call him friend. We still stay in touch from time to time as recently as this month. He is doing well and still enjoying his Porsche passion.

Would love to see Ralph again. But he retired in 2016. So lucky to have him do my 911 right before.
