    „edscha“ wiper linkage questions

    dear all,

concerning the Edscha (Eduard Scharwächter) wiper linkage I do have some questions concerning materials and colors.

the main part is silver with a clear coat, but the
    linkage, is this:

    (Reichsausschuß für Lieferbedingungen)
    RAL 7042 verkehrsgrau
    RAL 7030 steingrau
    or
    Motip 46801

    or else color?

and does anyone of you have infos on the
    “cross-style“ closure of the pressing?

I was told, the rest of the movable parts are made from industrial nickel….further infos on this..??

….my 65 unit was badly corroded, as the lubrificant was surely dried up already in LA.

as nearby no restored units do appear nowhere, I have to try and do some rescue remedy to the unit..

any infos are welcome.. offers for restored linkage also..

    br

    stay safe&healthy

    Hello Haul,
Some time ago I posted pictures of the windshield wiper system of my car:

I can post more pictures if needed.

    Merci beaucoup Phillipe,

thank you for the link...very spare infos on this issue...
Your unit does look completely grey, or are the pics just misleading??
you have the unit with the security ring clips...
the replacement of the arm shafts/ pivots is quite a delicate issue, as these are firmly pressed to the linkage.

So you would also need a similar unit with the security ring clips, or a complete replacement of the linkage.

I found yesterday an early painted silver/gray linkage, which will be in my hands in the middle of the upcoming week, so I will post more infos on it.

the unit i bought arrived already today.
It is still for an early swb car, engine motor parallel to the linkage,
    but the linkage itself has
    - different „pressings“
    - no color, metal, looks like „treated“ -> zink coated
    - main part still silver with clear coat
    - threads with secluded brass bushings
    - „26“ stamping on the pivot base
    - stamping over the „Edscha“ marking

I would call this one the
    3rd execution

Assuming Phillipes is equal to other 901 versions
    -> 1st execution

    2nd execution
    - linkage painted RAL 7030 (?)
    - main part silver with clear coat
    - pressings with „cross closure“
    - treads with straigt flush bushings ending
    - wiper engine SWF with cover SWDV 400.742, stamping BS 12V/22

    more feed back is welcome

    Hello,
Here are more pictures of the wiper assembly of the 300090.
Please ignore the punches (red circle) as I made them about 20 years ago when I disassembled the mechanism to change the washers.
Note: I don't see any stamping on the pivot base.

    Bonsoir Haul,
All painted parts are the same color: gray.
And some of the unpainted parts (like on the following picture) appear to have been treated.

    Hi Haul,
I would say for the 2nd generation the linkage color is RAL 7037 (Staubgrau).
But I will check again tomorrow with day light.
    Best regards
    Claudius

    Phillipe,
have you determined your gray in RAL color code?
I do not think that Edscha had changed coloring in-between the years before zink treating the linkage.

    Claudius,

yes would be nice to get a feed back from you.

    Hello Haul,
I don't have a RAL color chart: I will try to find one...
