Jerry,
I drove a 72S with 7's & 8' 15's with the 'new' Pirelli CN36's - 185 x 70's and 215 x 60's ...
I was pretty impressed ....
Seemed like good all-round street, road, performance tires...
My .02 ... Hope this helps
Cheers,
cm

Follow Chuck's $.02 , the best option for performance and price .
On board with the CN36 recommendation. I have them on my 73S. Light, lively and predictable, plus they look proper.

are your rear fenders flared? The combination Chuck recommends is what was used on the 3.0RS before P7's came out

Will CN36’s work with 7” wide wheels on all four corners and standard fenders? They only offer the two sizes and I am con the 185 is too small and the 215 is too large. Currently I have 205/60 on the car. So not sure going down to 185 is right thing to do, but the CN36 is definitely the right aesthetic. Adibe is appreciated.

185 should be fine on 7. I have Michelin XWX 185/70s on 15x7, no issues at all. FWIW, stock flares, no rubbing either.
Chuck,
Those 8x15 with 215/60 tires in the rear, did the car need fender rolled? Was it stock flare? The offset on the 8 is 10.6?
No, no ... It's a lovely '72S hot rod with RS flares ... 215/60's on 8's are perfect...Those 8x15 with 215/60 tires in the rear, did the car need fender rolled? Was it stock flare? The offset on the 8” is 10.6?

A different opinion. I have CN36's on my street '69T with an S-spec engine rebuild but which is otherwise absolutely stock. The car originally came with Pirelli's and I wanted to be as authentic as possible in the restoration to reproduce the 'original' feel of the car. On the upside, the CN36's look great. On the downside, they are tall, mushy, and roll. If you want authenticity, go with the CN36's. If you want performance, go with something else.
