    WTB: RoW-spec dashboard switches for ‘72 MY

    I’m converting my US-spec T to RoW spec and need all the correct dashboard switches from PET 903-05, some of which are NLA.

    According to Brett Johnson’s excellent book, I need:

    - headlight switch (modified in ‘72 and different one for US cars);
    - hazard warning (triangle in centre, with ‘HAZARD’ twice around the edge);
    - rear window heating switch (unchanged from ‘71);
    - fog light switch (same as one used in ‘69-‘70);
    - cigarette lighter (same as one used in ‘71)

    If anyone has any of these in good condition, or advice and/or corrections, please let me know.

    Thanks.

    Rip some the big USA rubber covers off you will be surprised at what you find underneath might solve some of your problems

    Thanks Clyde! That certainly lessens my task - just need RoW headlight and hazard switches now!

    I took the rubber covers off the rear window heater switch and that nicely solved that one, and then discovered that the headlight switch actually had the correct part number on it (911.613.212.00) as well as the rubber cap, so that's solved too!

    Just the RoW hazard switch now!

    Are you sure that is the correct ROW hazard switch. It may well be as your talking 72 but certainly different in 73 ROW

    Yes I got a pleasant surprise previously when I removed a perished USA rubber knob to find a perfect euro spec one underneath

    So Brett’s book states on p.92 “1969-1971 The four-way flasher switch was different from the one used in 1968 but still used the rubber knob type switch. The version used in 1970 and 1971 was considerably different. It became a red translucent plastic push button. The European version had a triangle in the center and the word HAZARD twice. The US featured the word EMERGENCY.

    1972-1973 The four-way flasher switches for 1972 were the same as those for 1971. New US and European switches were fitted for 1973.”

    However, just to confuse things further, my concours, never restored, ‘72S has a red plastic translucent hazard switch with no symbols or words on it!
