    1972 Olympia-Rallye, 13-19 August 1972

    The 50th anniversary of this rally is just around the corner. Its Facebook page has some great period photos from 1972. Longhoods range from the factory 911ST rally car, serial number 911 230 0047, Stuttgart plate S-AK 1337, to a lone 911S in the under 2000 cc class.     btw… walther roehrl, the legend, world champion, pikes peak winner did also participate at this very rally, in a Ford Capri RS…

    the third place gold medal winner #58, Walter Vetter, had been the third owner of 13326, aka Quickblau, now in the hands of Alois Ruf.

    Mr. Vetter bought it from Hans Mezger, who had it from the factory, aka Mr.Piech.
