Available for purchase is Bruce Jennings’s (King Carrera) 1968 911S. It can be seen this coming August at the Monterey Car Week. Fully restored and ready to compete in vintage racing events. Complete history and documentation, this 911S is eligible for the best vintage events in the world.

    HISTORY

Because of the new EPA and DOT laws, Porsche did not import the new S into the United States. In order to obtain this model, Bruce entrusted Heinz Bade who was a friend and mechanic that had residency in Sweden. Bade took delivery of the car at the Porsche dealer in Hamburg; he then brought the car into North America via Canada. Upon taking delivery of the ‘68S, Jennings took the car immediately to Jerry McCarthy. McCarthy was known for his race car preparation and his attention to detail. Bruce gave McCarthy orders to turn the car into a race car as best he could. The car was earmarked to run SCCA Regionals and Nationals on the east coast. The car also competed in numerous TransAm races as well as IMSA.

In January of 1997, good friend, fellow driver, and member of Jennings crew, Russ Poole purchased the car from Bruce. Russ was at Bruce’s house sorting parts and visiting the day Bruce passed away. For the next 11 years, Russ vintage raced the car and took great pains to preserve its history. In 2007, the car was purchased by Phil Bagley of Klub Sport Racing and went through a total restoration.

Seems quaint to have a near complete stock interior in a competitive racer.
    Impressive period, U.S. ,who's who .
    Any notable finishes, I wonder?

The period photo is at Sebring in 1972. That roll cage was in the car when Bagley got it the first time. The full interior is crazy. I remember when the car ("Little" 77) was initially at Klub Sport. They also restored (several times) what we commonly call the "Big" 77 car, which was Bruce's 2.5 liter race car. These two 911's along with the Hans Niederer car are my three all time favorite race 911's.
