    1971 911 E-Brake Warning Light Flasher Clicking

While I was refurbishing the gauges on my 1971 911T I noticed the light bulb in the top of the Pressure/Temperature Gage for the E-Brake/Master Cylinder Warning Light was missing. I replaced it and it immediately started to blink and the flasher unit started to click. I surmised that the E-Brake handle switch was bad (and it was) so I replaced it. Now the light goes out, BUT the flasher unit still clicks. I thought that it might be the Master Cylinder Warning Switch so I disconnected the two wires from the switch and the clicking stopped. Then I jumped between the two wires and the clicking came back. I removed the Master Cylinder Warning Light switch and it appeared to be functionally properly. To ensure that the piston in the master cylinder that activates the plunger on the switch was not stuck in one direction, I bled the brakes so that both circuits were properly bled. Still no change.

Is this normal for flasher unit to still click once the e-Brake handle is releases and the gauge light goes out???

Update!! Today I drove the car for the first time after I did all the E-brake/Master Cylinder warning switch work & brake bleed and the clicking stopped. I guess the system had to reboot itself. All is fine now.
