Thread: Suggestions on how to clean the front trunk VIN plate?

Suggestions on how to clean the front trunk VIN plate?

Good morning, looking at some rollers to potentially build a bit of a hot rod and one of the cars has a really dirty front VIN plate. That prompted the question of how do you clean that without risking damage or compromising the integrity of the standings?

Thanks in advance for any best practices.

I use SemiChrome, bright at first then softens. Yellow car fresh, white car a decade old.

Wow - those look like they held up well.

Looks like that is a paste that you use to clean and polish the surface?

    Thanks for the response.

Mine were off the car when I did them, but soft cloth and Q tips will do the job.

Autosol paste if you don't want to remove it. Use a toothbrush.
Ultrasonic cleaner if you are removing it.
