    Scheel 101 back adjuster removal

I have a Scheel 101 where the adjustable back is stuck. I suspect rust and would like to open it up and free the mechanism. But the hand wheel is in the way and I’m afraid it might break if removed incorrectly.

Does anyone know how it is attached and how to remove it?

Also there seems to be a bit of slack in the hand wheel itself so might need to be replaced. I have seen pictures of what seem to be the same item on different old bucket seats from both Scheel and Recaro as well as lesser brands like König, Prinz, Delta-racing etc. But I have not found any spare hand wheels identical to this.

You can pry off that cover and the bolts undo then behind. That plastic is fragile though...

@al agustin: Thanks for your reply. I f you are positive the middle part is a cover I will make an attempt.

@al agustin: You were right. Thank you! It is some damage to it but it will probably still work when the back mechanism is free. I also realize there is some openings from the back of it so it could be opened from the inside to prevent damage.

I think I have a spare one of this. I'll let you know when or if I find it...it's in storage and been a while...plus I'm getting old
