    Hi John

Hope all is well with you? Coincidentally I happened to see something in U.K. eBay today in passing. Listing certainly said said horse hair which is why your wtb post resonated. Don't know if correct suitable for your need (right model colour year side etc) but if just need core maybe worth a quick eBay U.K. search.

If you can’t find item I might still have eBay item # in my recent eBay history*. My impression was it was later than “early 911” but didn’t click on item in search list as I didn’t need one.

*Edit: it is eBay U.K. item 265845958999

I think have early black one in deep storage. Can’t recall side. Vaguely remember it has a glue mark on orginal black vinyl but is horse hair core if memory serves. I’ll be at “the castle” again so let me know and I’ll investigate of your need me to.
