    Looks like a 67 911 or possibly 912 number.
    My 07.07.67 (67 model) Karmann 912 with 4-speed 902/0 has #165xxx on cardex. My 20.03.67 Porsche built 912 Targa has 902/1(5 speed) and #237xxx.

    My 07.07.67 912 902/0 4-speed is #165036 so I assume the trans # for 67 MY ends at about 165200.

The 68MY cars have different type of # so I think your trans is for a 67 911.

    A 1967 4 speed (base spec) for a 911. Out of 28 that I know of none were in a 911S.
