    Vintage Tires

Hi everyone. I am trying to keep my 68 as original as I can. My Kardex says it came with the DUNLOP 15s but no one is using the classic Dunlop. Mostly everyone is using the Pirelli Cinturato or the Vredestein Sprint Classic Tire. I currently have the Pirellis. How are the Dunlop and which is the tire Porsche used? Is the tread design being used on a vintage tire today for Dunlop?

I believe only Dunlop motorcycle tires are available in the USA (they are actually made by Sumimoto in Buffalo, NY). For Dunlop automobile tires, I believe you have to have them sent from the UK. FIA regulations require Dunlop Vintage R5 for my historic racecar that I keep and race in Europe. They work fine for racing, but since I can't run anything else, I have no basis for direct comparison. Their longevity seems fine.

    Hi Rafael,
The closest looking tyres to the original Dunlop SP 165VR15 or 165HR16 for SWB are the Broockley Tires, UK, also available R and V speed rated for the 911S.
