Old trucks are cool. My first “car” was a 1955 Ford F-100. One day, I will have one again.

My first "car" was also a Ford F-100, but a 1959 in my case. Sold it and my first actual car was also a Ford, a 1963½ Galaxie 500XL 2 door fastback, complete with gas swilling big block 390. Oddly, I've never owned another Ford since...

New radiator and electric fan install is mostly complete. Next up is adding power assist to the disc/drum brakes.

Power brake conversion kit is backordered, so I'm picking away at details while I wait.

C-10's are the bomb! I like them. Should have backed the truck up when they were cheap.

I've had a bunch of contemporary trucks but I like the old stuff for simplicity. Last summer I found a "Unicorn" Dodge 1st Generation "Texas Truck" with NO rust except for the "sunburned" paint. I used Sweet Patina "Sauce" to protect what's left and that's it for now. The interior is 100% original, never smoked in. Had to repair the headliner but that comes with the territory at this juncture. I have the original trim for the driver's side but haven't bothered to install it.
Venerable 5.9 Cummins 12 valve turbocharged/intercooled engine which was a ground breaker when new. 160HP and 400 Lb/Ft Torque. A drop in the bucket these days but this one doesn't need a dealer to "read the computer" nor does it need DEF Fluid. LOL
This is now my official Cars and Coffee representative. For whatever reason, nobody parks next to me.

Since the last post, the disc brakes installed by the prior owner have acquired power assist, a fairly basic radio and speakers installed, the front ride height raised an inch, and the wood bed floor has been installed. Waiting for the A/C parts to ship now.

OMG!!! I love it!!! You hit a home run with this project!!! Nice choice on the wheel and tire change!!!! The others were just too much. Every thing else I see is totally awesome!!! Want to sell it?

Sithot, my 5.9 24 valve I just put $60K or so in. Should run 12s. 2500 4X4 Quadcab. Probably going for new power with Mahle pistons and Carrillo rods, head studs, etc., etc. Why stop at this point?

@ 45PSI of boost... How long with the head bolts last? LOL!!!

Arne that is so awesome, you should be SO proud! WOW!!!! Amazing detail!!! You should show it! It would win, promise!

Well, just like all my retirement projects, it will be sold as soon as I declare it finished. The A/C parts arrived a couple days ago, so probably another 2-3 weeks, I'm guessing. Then it goes on the market.

There's a big, semi-local cruise-in coming up in early June. It features pre-75 American vehicles mostly. So I will try to make sure I have it mobile for that, even if the A/C install isn't 100% done.
